My cat used to do this. You have to ignore the bad behavior and give him more loving. He's being bad because he want's attention, like an unloved child. Spoil him rotten except when he's bad and ignore him when he is bad. You can cover his head with a towel when he bites and move him into another room and leave him alone, no attention. He needs to be played with and loved on. It really works.

Please Help Me!! My Cat Is Extremely Aggressive And Attacks Me Multiple Times A Day

Di and bob- I probably won't try it with Maggie, I might do it wrong. But I find it fascinating that it works to teach them what the mama cat would. I need to rent a mama cat for Maggie. It's really her only fault, she's a little meanie sometimes with her claws.

You've already got a lot of replies but I want to share my experience too: my (1.5 year old male neutered) cat does exactly the same thing, not hissing but constantly attacking me etcetc, my arms and legs are always a bloody mess. As many said, the problem is that they didn't learn how to play properly from their mothers or siblings. He doesn't hate you, and I wouldn't shut him outside at night because it would probably make things worse.
I tried with the water: what happens is that he runs away scared as soon as he sees the spray bottle (I don't even need to spray him, I just have to hold the bottle) but that didn't make him stop completely. He just became much faster at attacking me and running away.
Then, I realized that he attacked me much more in periods when he was stressed and I didn't realize he was. I was always busy with work, he was bored, or there were too many people coming and going in the hostel where I worked and where he was living with me. He is pretty friendly so I didn't realize too many people around could be a big deal for him, but as soon as I stopped working, he became much calmer. He still attacks me out of nowhere but less than before.
About the Feliway: use the one you plug in, you won't see any immediate change but in the long run I realized it helped too (I'd say a couple of months)
So, try to give him a chance and don't avoid him, try to stay calm when he attacks and if you can adopt another one, a kitten (with the proper ritual to introduce them and a loooot of patience) would help too.

That's a good show and full of good advice. However, it is a TV show and he's always successful. I just wonder how many cases he runs across in the real world that he can't solve!? No body bat's 1000. Just sayin!

More instructions for Animal Planet site. To view any of the locked shows,
your cable provider ID and password is required to unlock the shows you
want to watch. This is a Free Site and there are no charges. I personally just
went on the site, clicked on mycatfromhell, to unlock and view, entered my
cable ID and password and watched some nasty cats that were helped, once it
