I'm probably overreacting as this is the first time my cat got pregnant, but one of her kittens is breathing really fast with her mouth open. They close their mouth for a few seconds around every 20 seconds if that helps.

No that is not normal, they are having trouble. Has the kitten been nursing and gaining weight, that is how you usually know if everything is all right. It helps sometimes to put a little bit of honey on their gums in their mouth to give them a little energy. I hope StefanZ StefanZ or Sarthur2 Sarthur2 can help you.....

Is it still happening? Is it hot in the room? Are you hand-feeding or is the kitten nursing mom? How many kittens are there?
