You can try laying something of yours in it, or throw down some catnip in it, or lay down a piece of fleece or fake fur, which most cats find irresistible.
Casper will sleep on the sofa, on our bed, in his cat bed, inside his cardboard box(es) or even in the closet. He just "migrates" from place to place on his own schedule. One day he'll sleep on the bed. A few days later, we'll wake up and find him in the closet. We never really know where we'll find him next.
Yes. Put something of yours in the cat's new bed so that he'll know that it's a good place to sleep but, for the most part, just leave the bed in one spot and, in a week or so, you'll probably wake up to find him sleeping there as if it has always been his favorite place.
If a month goes by and the cat hasn't slept there, even once, you might want to move the bed to some other place.
Cat's can be finicky about where they sleep and it's hard for humans to second guess them.
