Hi,

Today I found this worm on my cat around his lower tail area. There are no clear signs of infection nor are there any changes in his behaviour. After looking up worms online I suspect this might just be a larva of a carpet beetle but I just wanted to make sure and ask here just in case. He is not an outdoor cat and my flat stays very clean so it seemed odd to find this on him. Can anyone recognise this?

That doesn’t look like an intestinal parasite to me. Tapeworms look like grains of rice, roundworms are long and round. Hookworms and whipworms are too small to see with the naked eye.

Yeah I'm pretty sure that's a carpet beetle larva. They're everywhere. Don't worry about it! (Unless you find a lot of them, then call an exterminator.)

Alright I guess it was by chance it was stuck on his fur. Thank you for the replies!
