My newborn kitten is breathing hard

My newborn kitten is 4 days old . She is breathing hard but nursing good. She meows loudly but I still see her breathing hard

It sounds like she is okay if she’s nursing and meowing. A vet can check for infection and prescribe clavamox as an antibiotic in case she inhaled fluid while being born. The clavamox will clear her lungs.

Thank You. Do you think it’s safe to give her a taste of elderberry juice or vitamin c to boost her immunity ?

No! She is too young for any supplements. Best to get her vet checked.

Ok. We are sitting in the bathroom, after we steam it up, for about 10 minutes, to help her breathing . She is nursing good and gets plenty rest . She isn’t lethargic or anything . She is alert. It’s her breathing that concerns me. She needs antibiotics !

Yes, I agree. She probably has some fluid in her lungs that clavamox suspension will help to resolve. Can you see a vet tomorrow? They may try to tell you that she is too young or small but you must insist that she be given the antibiotics.
