I lost her almost exactly two years ago now. She had a brain tumor: just behind her right eye. I didn't know anything was even amiss until her eye was bulging out. Eventually, it got to the point where she could only walk in a circle, in one direction. We went to several doctors, a specialist. I paid for an MRI. They told me I couldn't save her. Sent me home with steroids that would give her quality of life for a bit, and give me time to say goodbye. She went back to normal for a couple of weeks on those, which was both the best and worst thing that could have happened at the time. I had my ba y back, for a little while.

Eventually, they didnt help anymore. I called a veterinarian to come to my home, and do the euthanasia. The seizures on her final day were something I'll never forget. They were horrifying. She didn't know me. Didn't know anything anymore.

I know I did everything I could. I gave her a good life, a dignified death. But, in the grand scheme of things, a part of me will always feel I failed her, I think. It still cuts me deep.

Miss you terribly, Princess.

Oh my she looks just like our Sugar who we almost lost months ago due to a horrible reaction to anesthesia, so beautiful....I am sorry for your loss, but you did all that you could do, it is normal to feel that we failed them but you didn't, we can't always save them even with all the medicine and technology out there, sometimes it is just their time to go.

Serenity had a brain tumor years ago and when they told us that is what it was I thought "that's it, she's done". She also would walk in circles until she straightened her way out, but with Prednisone and Transfer Factors Plus for her immune system we had her for 1.5 years and it was good, but she eventually passed too. But we did all that we could, just as you did.

I am sorry for your loss but she is just fine now, no problems just fine, and you will see her again one day and it will be wonderful...

God Bless......:alright: :grouphug: :rbheart:

The story of your Lilly crushed my heart, I'm so sorry :(
You did nothing wrong, you did everything as you should have done, you weren't into her brain, you couldn't see what was going on in there.
You loved her, she loved you, you were so complete, and nothing will ever break this completeness.
RIP Lilly!

Your precious Lilly would be the last one to want you to feel the way you do, she would never want to bring pain to the one she loves so very much. The bond you built will never leave you, she will always be near. Love is spiritual, so eternal, try to send her thoughts of love and joy, because she now lives on through you.
There comes a point in time when there is no longer joy in living, when being alive is an existence. You somehow found the strength you needed to end the pain, to bring peace to Lilly, and for that she will be always grateful. Don't let her death be more important than her life. Try to remember the good times, the happiness she brought you, not the sad end. It's hard, it's one of the most painful things you will have to go through, but think of her as she was in the prime of her life, so beautiful, so loved. Because that is what she wants for the one she loves so very much, the one she left a piece of her heart with.
My heart goes out to you, I know how much this hurts and how long it takes to bring peace back into your heart. Sh will help you if you let her, because she is always as near as your thoughts and prayers. Take care......RIP precious Lilly. you will never be forgotten, you will forever have a place in a loving heart. May the good Lord bless and keep you, until you meet again!

Rest you gentle, Princess, dream you deep. You walk in someone's heart forever.

No, never failed her. Your willingness to try anything, your love, care and devotion, none of those things, the thing in your control, were failures. You gave her those extra weeks of good time, you were with her every step of her final journey in this life. Now, she has begun that Next Great Adventure, and she carries your love with her, and sends hers back to abide with you.
