Not uncommon for some vets or human doctors to act less than thrilled that someone else might be involved. Many vets believe that traditional medical care and medication is what is needed and do not consider nutrition to carry a lot of weight. Don't take it personally as consulting a nutritionist is very proactive and really mainstream.
The nutritionist I contacted has two certificates in nutrition and is finishing a masters in animal nutrition from the university of glasgow, but his vet was like "animal nutritionists don't exist in france", which threw me off completely.

But yeah, I was 100% willing to work with HER instead and the vet that's also specialized in nutrition... but, as usual, she left me hanging when it comes to food. Getting help from vets about food is literally mission impossible.

It is here, too, in general. While you can find just about anything you want in the LA area, many vets themselves are still not very schooled or interested in nutrition.

I emailed the clinic again (easier for me, since Im not fluent in french), and checked whether it would still be possible for them to contact the nutrition specialist, since he has presumptive IBD and constipation, and any chronic conditions mean the vets need to be the one reaching out as opposed to the owners...

I think another vet is responsible for emails, so we'll see what happens. Worst case scenario they will be like "as we said, no" lol
