My cat is 3 years old and he has always liked to go outside and has always "gone to the toilet" outside.

Recently he won't go out and keeps pooing in the same place (in my sons bedroom) and urinating in the bath. Which he's never done before.

He also seems to be drinking a lot more and wants more cuddles (he has always been a lap cat but he seems to want comforting more recently).

I've tried taking him outside but he runs back inside.

Is this something to worry about?

I think so, I think you should take the kitty to the vet. A change in bathroom behavior like that may mean kitty is sick.

Absolutely, a trip to the vet is in order. surya surya is correct. I also wonder if something outside frightened him. Cats can develop PTSD, just as humans can, but this, too, would need a visit to the vet.

Have you added a litter box inside so he has somewhere appropriate to go? Has it recently gotten cold where you live?
