We always do the same thing for Christmas, so it's easy to figure out dinner. We go to the in-laws house on Christmas day for dinner after having brunch with my mom and sister. My MIL makes a turkey and a spiral honey ham (YUM!!!) . We usually make a dessert to bring. If MIL wants something specific (usually homemade carrot cake), sometimes she will supply the ingredients and we will just bake it. Then at some point, usually either the 26th or the following weekend, we have dinner with my family. Whoever is in charge of hosting makes the turkey and everyone else brings the side dishes and desserts.

This post reminded me that I need to ask what I am to bring to my family dinner. One year, hubby and I made a make your own sundae bar. We had 2 different kinds of brownies (regular and ones made with no oil), 3 kinds of ice cream, sprinkles, a few different sauces, nuts, cherries and whipped cream. I have a big family with a lot of kids and thought it would be fun for them.
