When do you do your grocery shopping?

My routine is out of whack here. A lot of weekends I go on Sunday afternoon or early evening; but lately it isn't working out but squeezing it in on a weekday isn't helping. Sometimes we manage to go right after church and get it over and done with. Lately it's varied between Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday evening. I would prefer to always shop when it's not busy.

When I worked I always went Monday afternoon after work. I always had a half day on Monday so it was convenient. One of my co-workers always went after her kids were in bed! I'm a night person; but I still don't want to be traipsing around Walmart or the grocery store that late anymore. :p At least not on a regular basis!

My kids like when we go on Tuesday afternoons because the pretzel place nearby has $1 pretzels and I might reward them with one. Or they might have been given a dollar or two from a grandparent thats burning a hole in their pockets.

always on a week day, and always planned well in advance. i go grocery shopping usually two times during each three month period of time. the actual date varies quite a bit; it depends on what else i have going on. i prefer to organize things so i don't have too many things going on at once.

i do go to the local produce auctions often though. i don't go to every single one, will go if i could use some fresh fruit or produce, or am looking for some other thing(s) in particular that i know i'd likely find a good price for there.

Usually on Monday nights right after I get home from work. I try to hit the store only once a week; some weeks are better than others.

I go just about every day of the week, after work. I need to make sure I don't buy anything I don't need, so I get only what I really need, each day most of the time. It has become too confusing for me to buy ahead.

My helper goes on Mondays and Fridays, sometimes another day if I see that strawberries are on sale. I could eat
them non-stop.

I try to menu plan so we don't waste food. I tried doing every other week like my mother always did; but I'd forget to defrost meat or just lose inspiration for what I bought.:doh:

It's not always been easy to go with kids in tow but we do waste less. :agree:

I still need to go for this week but I need some inspiration for our menu. :dizzy:

I avoid the grocery store on Week-ends ~~ overcrowded.

I usually go to Trader Joes, every 8 days or so, picking up yogurt and such.

I do a heavy local grocery shopping every 2-3 weeks or so..

In between, I just drop in for fresh produce and stuff...

No set day for grocery shopping, I usually go when I'm running low on fruits & veggies. However, one of the grocery stores in our area, (Mariano's), offers double coupon day on Wednesday so I try to go for more of the staple items including kitty litter. ;)

I have never scheduled my grocery shopping. I just make time to do it when things really start getting low at home.

I'll hit Costco about once a month either for pet food meats or shelf/freezer items. I avoid getting produce at Costco, I've just not had very good luck either with quality or we don't eat it fast enough.

I hit the local grocery about once a week as needed for fresh produce, perishables, or bulk bin items.

Most coupons I see in the mailers are completely useless to me, as they are rarely for anything I need or use. Also, I'm not inclined to run around to every store in town just to get one or two little "deals" (by that time, I've spent the savings in gas, lol).

My trainer tried to get me to shop at Trader Joe's or Sprouts more often. Nothing against them, love a lot of their stuff. But there are not any very near me, and prices are a little more than I care to pay unless it's a really unique item. Again... it's that whole "running around" thing that I'm kinda over.

Sunday afternoon, usually. I try to go straight from church to the gym to the grocery, mostly because it forces me to go to the gym.

It's more crowded I guess, but now it's habit.

I am going to have to start having my groceries delivered. It is getting very difficult for me to do the shopping because of the shape my knees are in. I hope once I have the surgery on them I can go back to my normal ways. That is going shopping once or twice a week to 2 or 3 different stores.

Wal-Mart for some stuff at 4am on Sunday. Kroger two hours later at 6am for others. I am in and out before anyone is around and use the self checkout. I know exactly what I am getting(I always make lists),and where it is in the store. And both stores are within 3 miles of me.

Repetition breeds consistancy. I may be a little OCD.

We have to pass by the major groceries and Wal Mart on our way to church two times a week. If we need anything, we stop after church. I try to make a trip myself about every two weeks or so. Other times, I make a list and send it by hubby if he leaves home to go buy gas or make a trip to the hardware store.

I work full time with a long commute into NYC so Saturdays are my shopping day. I go as early as feasible.
Sometimes on Sunday instead if I can't do it the day before.
