Since I've only posted a quick introduction to my new senior cat, Bochy, it's time to roll out some pics of her lovely self. I initially named her "Miss Pussens" but, after she was with me for a week or so, I was looking at her face while she was sleeping in my lap and knew that she reminded me of something or someone...and then it hit me! If you're a rabid baseball fan like me (yay, Cubs!), you may be familiar with the manager of the San Francisco Giants, Bruce Bochy. He's dark-haired with heavy dark brows/lashes but the lashes of one eye are white, giving his face a bit of an off-kilter look. Miss Pussens has gold lashes that blend beautifully on the gold side of her tortie face but really stand out on the black side so she was renamed "Bochy."
Her coloring is amazingly rich and varied, even for tortoiseshell: gold, black, orange and red.
The poor lady has been suffering from what the vet has finally decided is a form of IBS and has been through several extended bouts of diarrhea and vomiting. Now that she's halfway through her second round of Metronidazole and is on Royal Canin Veterinary Selected Protein (rabbit) diet, she's been feeling so much better and has been behaving like a "normal" cat. Here she is with her Christmas present, a feathered catnip bird:
