I'm making cake balls, peanut butter balls and who knows what else today. My MIL gave me 2 big bags of melting chocolate but it's kind of white on the outside. I know that is caused by the chocolate getting warm then cold (it was stored in the cupboard for a few months), but once melted will the white look go away? I've eaten candy bars that looked like this and they tasted fine and I still lived to tell about it so I don't think went bad or anything.

yes, you can melt them and hte white residue will go away - it is sugar forming after temp changes, and just melts. HAve a great bake!

It's called "bloom" and it happens when the chocolate is stored in a place that can get too warm sometimes.

I just made some peanut butter balls earlier this afternoon with chocolate that had the white on the outside, and it turned out fine when melted. I also taste tested some after they were made, and it tasted fine!
