Matted eye- 2week old kitten

Hello All-
I have a 2 week old kitten that just started having an eye that seems to get matted (crusted) shut. However, there’s not much mucus or crusting. This just started yesterday, I’ve used warm compresses yesterday and this morning and it seems to open right up. No redness or anything like that. Any suggestions? I really can’t afford an expensive vet bell right now so any home remedies would be helpful! Thank you

Continue the warm damp compresses. Soaking the cloth in cooled steeped black tea has proven to help with crusty eyes.

If the kitten develops green or yellow pus you’ll need to use Terramycin antibiotic ointment on the eyes. Terramycin is available on Chewy.com without a prescription, or various sites on Amazon, or from your vet. Around $15-20 per tube.
