It is said that for one minute only in his or her entire life, a Cat is allowed by the Law to speak human. The Cat can say anything to his or her human guardian during that minute. But no Cat ever used that opportunity, for the Cat loves his human to much to bother him or her with his or her pains and wishes.

Instead, the Cat shows up in the human's dreams after crossing, and describes the wonders of the Other Realm. Only cat's guardians have this privilege and they can never tell the others what the Cat told them. When the End of the human comes, the Cat wait at the entrance and help him or her to cross as well.
