Hi Foster kitty, due now! Nesting since yesterday. One hour ago clear fluid leaking and lots more licking. No signs of contractions. No panting. Restless pacing and still snacking. Nest chosen, dark quiet room. Wanting lots of tummy rubs. Not distressed in anyway just a little sulky. Have called vet in preparation for any issues. He said call back in 12 hours if no sign of active labor. Between pacing she's napping. Does this all seem normal? No blood loss or squatting as yet. Any advice welcome.

Also not wanting me to leave her, and a little more vocal!

It sounds like she is in the first stage of labor which can last 24 hours! As long as she does not seem to be in any distress, or actively pushing for over an hour I wouldn't worry too much!

Contracted I mean. I knew she was close, but her appetite didn't wane, she's been eating through labor!

5 so far, I think that's it. All kittens latched on, she's being a great mommy

She had 6 but only 4 are alive. The other 2were tiny. The 4 are doing well and feeding. She's not left them other than to eat and use kitty litter. (which is same room) she's doing well. Will take some photos today

I'm so sorry you lost those two babies, it hurts to lose them before they even get to live. Give that mama a kiss for me, she's got her hands full!
