Just notice today my kittens have a swollen belly, one of them meows when I pick him up and he had drool on his mouth. Is it normal for them to have bloated belly? She feeds and take care of them. I felt momma cat belly don’t know if she has milk . I can’t go to vet til next week. Any advice would be appreciated. I’m worried he won’t make it!p.s they seem healthy minus kitten action. They are almost 2 weeks old

Of poor babies! I’m glad you’re looking for answers, someone here will help you I’m sure.:alright:
I’m no expert, but the first thing that comes to mind is worms? But that’s where my small intellect ends...
Perhaps StefanZ StefanZ can help? The kitten wonder worker!
You are right to act fast, kittens can go downhill quickly, here’s hoping and praying you can get them what they need! :bouquet:

If momma has enough milk easiest to know is to weigh them every day. If they add 10+ grammes a day good, if less you prob need to supplement.

Bloated belly may be problem but may be fairly normal.
This drooling and moans doesnt sound good....

You can perhaps try with simethicone. The same as for human babies.
Two drops at a meal.
This most common for bottle raised orphans but perhaps here too?

You can weigh them on one of those little electric scales, maybe borrow one?
You’ll know fast if Mum doesn’t have enough milk, if they aren’t gaining around 10 grams per day. Kitten milk replacement can be picked up at most pet stores and isn’t expensive.
You can do this!:goldstar:

I think the kitten needs antibiotics for an infection. As Talking Peanut suggested, it may be the umbilical area. It looks red, and it’s probably pus in the belly.

Please get to a vet right away! This is dangerous. It also sounds like the kitten is in pain and may be feverish.

Ask the vet if you can use a payment plan if this is about money. Please do not wait a week!
