Hello everyone.

So, I have an 11 month old domestic medium hair (Vader) who occasionally makes poo on the floor.

We are pretty certain it’s behavioral, as he recently lost his brother to FIP (Vader has been checked out and is healthy).

He will poop in the hallway box, but when in his room, he uses the floor rather than the box in there.

His brother pooped on the floor while sick, so we think he sees that room as the doodie room.

How do we break him of this?

How often do you scoop his litterbox?

Hello and welcome to TCS.
Condolences on the loss of Vader's brother. :alright: RIP sweet boy. :angel3:

Here's the link to the TCS article How To Solve Litterbox Problems In Cats: The Ultimate Guide

Here's an excerpt: "If the cat keeps using the same spot even after it's been properly cleaned, you may want to block the cat's access to the area, or use other measures to dis-associate the place from elimination. Playing with the cat in that area or placing small dishes with some cat food can sometimes help."
