I have a foster cat and her 5 kittens. They are 4 weeks old today. One kitten, about a week ago, started losing weight. Since then he will gain some, then lose it the next day. It's like 2 steps forward 1 step back. The shelter put him on clavamox assuming he has diarrhea, though I've seen no sign of that (but I haven't seen him poop at all, momma does a good job of cleaning up). He nurses well and seems hungry quite often. I tried to supplement with a bottle and kmr but he wouldn't have it. I've given him subcutaneous fluids a few times, again, assuming it's diarrhea.

It's really baffling since everyone else is gaining well. The shelter starts deworming with pyrantel at 4 weeks, so they just got their first dose tonight. The shelter and I are confused. Does anyone have any experience with this type of thing?

Klts having momma are often reluctant to bottle. Syringe or dropper may be necessary. More difficult and somewhat risky with wrong technique, but easier on other ways.

What kmr do you use? Can you get raw goats milk?

You can add some dextrose / glucose sugar to this kmr. Or a tiny trifle honey.
