Congratulations! I always liked The James Gang. I don't care for him with the Eagles, though, and I don't know why. But loved James Gang. And I liked him solo, too.
Oooh, I'm so jealous!!! I want to see that show so very very badly, but alas, I live in Florida.
I LOVE Joe Walsh. I had the privilege of seeing him with The Eagles (such an unbelievably boring concert!) last year here in Orlando. The part where they played his solo stuff was the best part of the whole thing.
What I wouldn't give to see him solo...

I'm green with envy! I've always loved Joe Walsh, but especially with the Eagles.

the concert was great. he played about 90 min. he was the only reason i went to see the Eagles 'when hell freezes over' tour and then he was the special guest at the TSO show out here a few years ago. i love James Gang too. he had a 6 piece band with him plus 3 back-up singers. he played Funk49 & walk Away from JG and Life in the fast Lane & All Night Long from the eagles plus a couple songs from a new album coming out in February that i really liked. my favorite song of the night was 'turned to stone'. they wouldn't let anybody take photos because the concert was beeing recorded. JW said 'you all going to be famous and on the internet'. his wife, Marjorie Bach, was in the shadows on the side of the stage dancing along to the show most of the night. she's Barbara Bach's sister who is married to Ringo Starr so Ringo & Joe are BIL's.
he's the only artist i've ever seen that changed guitars after every single song, sometimes in the middle of the song too.
i've seen Robin Trower quite a few times and he uses the same guitar for a 2 hr show

Joe Walsh essentially saved the Eagles from a slow decline into obscurity as a country-rock band. You can almost pick out the day he showed up; their songs had a new excitement and edge, due to his masterful guitar work.

He was playing here on Halloween night, otherwise we would have gone to see him (halloween night hubby can NOT not pass out candy dressed up like Dumbledore
) And now Melissa Etheridge is going to be here this Friday night at the same venue, and we're going to be out of town for a wedding. Gosh, their timing sucks
But at least this Saturday night we'll be back in town to see what purports to be "not a cover band" doing Fleetwood Mac's entire Rumours album. I watched a clip of this group on Youtube, and even though the lead singer looks like Meatloaf, they do sound exactly like Fleetwood Mac! Should be good, and so much less expensive than the real deal.

I had front row seats when I saw him in 1976 at a race track outside of Chicago. Linda Rondstadt opened the concert and I believe he played with the Eagles that time.
I've seen him at least 5 other times in concert. I love his casual style.

My friend, who went to the concert, first came in contact with Joe back in the James Gang days. He and a buddy (both in the Navy) were on their way to a new duty station and stopped at a hotel for the night. Some guy knocked on their door and told them they were going to be having a party next door, that they would undoubtedly be loud, but the Navy boys were welcome to come join it if they wanted to.
They were both beat and needed the sleep, so they went to bed, but the party kept getting louder and louder. Finally, they banged on the wall. A few moments later, the body of a guitar came through the wall, making a pretty-good sized hole. The guy who had warned them about the party stuck his head through, and asked what he could do for them (politely, amazingly enough!).
They gave up and went over and joined the party. The guy at the door and the hole in the wall was Joe Walsh.
