Is this caused by a parasite?

I found this cat crying in a sidewalk last January 21st, he has a very disproportionate body (big stomach, yet skinny). He eats a lot but his body temperature is high (I think he has a fever), I do not think that he is fully blind, but there are times that he is heavily relying on sounds to navigate (he often bumps onto things when it is dark). What kind of illness does he have and what can I do treat him.

I might sound rude, but you found this cat 10 days ago, he is visibly in terrible condition and you didn't think to have him visited by a vet?
I was thinking that if I am going to go to a vet, that means I will not have enough money for the consultation fee and if I do, I do not think I still have money for whatever medicine they will prescribe. I thought the fever will go away but it is still there, I was not able to check it regularly as I was busy working on a school project (I'm just giving them food and go to school/sleep).

That poor cat is sick and in pain. Whatever he has it can't be treated at home without even knowing what he has. His eyes are sore (just think of the pain!), and he can't see. If left untreated he might likely lose his eyesight, and he would be blind for the rest of his life.
The fever is the signal of an inflammation or even an infection. It can be from bacteria or a virus, you don't know. It's unlikely that an infection passes on its own. That cat badly needs a vet visit and a prper treatment, with antibiotics and possibly antinflammatory meds.
I see that you are keeping the kitten next to your other cat, and you don't even know if the kitten has anything that can be passed onto the other cat. It's a very unsafe situation, if I can be honest.

Hi belphast belphast and a very warm welcome to the forum !

Could you post where, generally, you're located ?

I believe that would allow us to scour for some resources for you.

belphast belphast , First things first, Welcome, thanks for bringing your issue to thecatsite, FYI, many cat owners on this site have plenty of money to take their cat to the vet anytime he or she sneezes or coughs and spend several hundred dollars, no problem...Thank you for trying in some manner to help this poor guy rather than just leave it crying on a sidewalk, you may be poor but it shows that you have a big heart for animals in need, that being said, you may have taken on quite a chore for yourself, from what I can tell in the pic's, it appears to be all but blind, I've seen a lot of eyes in my time but sadly those look about gone to me and I hope and pray that I'm wrong, but on the up side, even if you cannot pay up to a thousand dollars or so for some eye work, even if his sight never improves, hopefully it will have you and a place to eat and sleep in his condition, speaking of his condition, most folks would have taken one look at it's eyes and keep on walking......Thank you for at least trying to give some kind of care and comfort in his condition AND in your current $ condition.......
I've said it before and I will say it again, ANY HELP IS BETTER THAN NO HELP !!

Also... If the rescued cat has any parasites or diseases, it is quite possible for your resident cat to get sick, too!
My first advice is to keep the two cats separate until you get things sorted out.

Okay, I get it. You want to help the cat in need. Kudos and applause for you! I wish more people would be like you!

Certainly, I can understand that you would want to keep the cat at home for a day or two so that it can calm down before you rush it off to the vet. Smart move, IMO! But, once the cat has calmed down, you really need to get it to the vet!

There's a good chance that the cat has worms. It could have feline leukemia. It could have fleas, ticks, mites, rabies or any of a whole host of problems that can affect your other cat and even effect you. The infection of it's eyes, face and mouth are plainly evident. That problem needs to be addressed ASAP and there isn't likely to be any home remedy that you can apply that would solve any of these problems.

Get that cat to a vet! Yesterday!

Me again, belphast belphast !

I suspect you dropped by yesterday....too bad you didn't post, though.

OK, here's the veterinary care place that some folks have suggested:

JUST GET HIM THERE, PLEASE !

Deal with costs/fees LATER !

.............and, do post back so we can rest easier.

white shadow white shadow , I believe the poster has nothing to do with Belfast and Northern Ireland.
Some supposed the poster is based in the Philippines because of the flag that appears next to a fund raising post somewhere else.

I, too, believe they are based in a country with limited resources.
In another thread, they said they didn't know if they could find a neurologist. I know that in NI there's plenty of specialists, so they are based outside NI.

I agree that we would like to know what's going on, but I think that this silence means that the kitten didn't make it 😪

Where do you think?
Help my rescued cats
Airfunding does show the flag of the Philippines.
After reading this I seriously hope you revaluate wheather or not you can financialy afford to continue to look after these animals. Many well meanining people start feeding a colony only for it to become too much and turn into a hording situation. Not saying that's nessesarly the case here just please don't take in more than you can handle financialy or physicaly.

Each animal needs proper vet care, tnr colonys have vaccienes, medications (where needed), food, water, and most importantly are fixed. Any young or friendly animals should be adopted out. Your goal is to shrink the colony not hoard.

If you cannot do this yourself please get in touch with a local rescue who can help you or relocate the colony if you cannot take care of it anymore.
