Is okocat less mess safe for 4 week old kittens?

Our batch of former newborn kittens are doing great. They are 4 weeks old now, and we're trying to introduce them to food and litter trays. We gave them this okocat less mess, wood pellet stuff, but it is clumping, which I just read could be a problem if they eat it.

Does this seem unsafe? If so, any recommendations?

My spontane reaction is; wait with these. Use non clumping at first.
Now, its surely less dangerous to get wooden pellets inside than clumping clay... Still, I wouldnt take the risk if its possible to avoid.

btw, this Öko is pronounced E; it is supposed to mean; ecological, eco... Which is surely true, but by some reason they cant use the word eco.
