Hi everyone!
I am new to the forums, and just wanted to introduce myself and my furry overlord.
I am a huge animal lover and have taken care of all sorts, ranging from bunnies to lizards.
Nowadays, I'm owned by Shadow, my (almost) two year old gray DSH.
Shadow was something of a rescue cat. When I first moved into my home, there was a momma cat hanging around.
She slowly began to trust me and shortly started coming into the house for food and pets.
One day, at the start of a particularly nasty thunderstorm, momma came to hide out behind my washer. As I was sitting in my mud room, I hear the faint little mews of babies! I rush outside and find them cowering under the patio table and I promptly gather them up in my shirt and bring them inside.
Momma cat started bringing her babies around all the time after this and they even spent the worst winter days in my laundry room.
I wanted to keep the whole family, but circumstances wouldn't allow me to keep four indoor cats, and I refused to have them be outdoor cats because of the dangers of living on a main road.
They were all taken to the vet for checkups and to get fixed. After which they were all given to loving homes.
I chose to keep Shadow because she was the hardest one to woo. Once she warmed up to me though, she was always at the head of the pack when I called them for food.
So from a little peanut of a cat to the supreme overlord of the house.
I wouldn't have it any other way.
