Hello, I hope y’all are staying safe. I’m trying to decide whether Tiki Cat Puka Puka Luau Succulent Chicken or Instinct by Nature’s Variety Original Real Chicken Recipe is a better and healthier long-term option. I want to get a lot of opinions from this community because I intend to feed my cat this brand it’s entire life as long as things check out good.

This is my question.. if you could only choose one of these two formulas to feed your cat from young adult to seniorwould you choose?

I like the Tiki Cat better, although I would recommend including two or three foods in you rotation so your cat doesn't lock onto one food. That can be a bad thing if the formula changes or they go out of production.

Thanks for your info, can I ask why Tiki is better?

If money was no object and my cat ate everything I gave her, I like the Tiki Cat. Less fillers and non essential ingredients (I hate seeing flaxseed in cat food as it's not a form of Omega 3 cats can actually use)

However, money is an issue, and my cat doesn't like shreds, so Instinct would be what I'd buy.

Both are good brands though Tiki cat is better due to lack of fillers. Honestly its always a good idea to feed different brands/flavors as cats do get bored.

Whichever your cat prefers. My cat didn't care for instinct but likes tiki cat. I agree with doing both of she likes both though. And if she doesn't have allergies or sensitivity to anything try other flavors. If I recall instinct has duck and rabbit as well.

Both are good, Tiki has less fillers but also it has significantly less calories and little fat. As Instinct has more fat, they seem to complement each other well. Instinct is priced better considering calorie density. My cats don’t like Tiki but love Instinct venison flavor. I take out whole peas and carrots from the can whenever I see them, to at least diminish its amount in the meal.

But if I were you, I’d reconsider the plan of feeding a cat one brand only it’s entire life, variety is important from nutritional perspective, but also, imagine eating one food for the rest of your life.. I’d rotate several brands and many proteins instead.

Ingredients in tiki are better but I would not serve it as a complete meal. It is too low in fat. You could mix the 2 together

I’m not sure which is better, but I’ve been feeding my cats Instinct since I got them. They love it & have been all healthy so far! I’ve always heard good things about Instinct.
