It was really slippery here and if you are in my area you will know that salt was sold out everywhere for a while.

Well the lady at petsmart said i could use cat litter.

I did that i put cat litter all over my steps and drive way, well it turned into soggy claw and is all clumped up! My friend came over and their feet were full of clay i had to lie and sayi had no idea where it came from because i was so ashamed

what a nightmare now anytime anyone including me walks on my property their shoes get ruined and clay sticks to them

anyone know how i can fix this?

Was it clumping litter? LOL, I made that mistake the first year I had my own place :tongue2:. Yeah, if you're going to use litter for ice it has to be non-clumping, and even then it's get a little nasty when things melt. All you can do is wait for a warmish day and shovel it all up.

yes clumping will the snow freeze it so its not so sticky?

I have used the feline pine pellet one behind the tires of my car to get out when we get the packed snow that is so easy to get stuck on.  That stuff still leaves a mess but it's the sawdust that is bio-degradable.
