Hi, our friendly stray's condition looks so bad and I would like to know how to help him. Has anyone had any experiences with mange and what helped to relieve it? Thanks.

Are you able to get the cat to a vet?

Mange is caused by mites, and the vet can give meds to kill the mites. The vet can also give the cat a bath in medicated shampoo, and if the cat has sores, the vet can also give antibiotics.

Do you feed this stray regularly?

Thanks so much for caring!

The best thing to do is trap it and take it to the vet. Mange can kill cats if left untreated.

Definitely trap the cat and head to a vet and get him treated. You can borrow a trap from a local feral cat rescue organization. That is what I do. I think the best thing you could do it take him to the Humane Society for treatment and neutering. Our Humane Society only charges $10 to treat and neuter a cat if you bring the cat in a trap (not a pet carrier). If you do not want to go that route, there are also low-cost clinics that you could take the cat to. I think the best idea is to trap him, take him to Humane Society
