How to attach a note to cat collar and other questions...

Here is a little background Sidekick

He has been using the cat shelter at night and then he goes somewhere else by day. He used to show up and eat quite a bit and lately only eats a little; therefore, I'm sure he is getting food someplace else and hanging out someplace else.

How can I attach a note to a collar?

Also, he really really wants to come in, but I am unable to do that at this time.. I've wanted to try him in my outbuilding, but fear he will try to break out and if he tries to go through a one of the windows which are old glass and cracked he will get hurt. I do have screens attached to the window frames on the inside, but.....

Also, he is super friendly, lets me pick him up and kisses my nose.

I don't know if there is anything that you can put a note into and attach to the collar. Anything long or bothersome might be removed by the cat before it reaches anyone...not to mention you don't want him to eat something like plastic.
