How Do You Start A Forum?

i would like to start a forum for a medical condition that ai have. There is one but most of the people are in the UK, so a lotnof the information does not apply. Does anybody know how to go about doing something like this?

might be easiest to start a blog and get it out there. I know forums can be expensive and hard to maintain

There are web site that let you set up a free forum. I have one on Tapatalk. Setting up a forum is easy on Tapatalk. Once it's set up you need to advertise the forum somehow so people know about it and join.

Proboards is another nice place for a small forum. I have a very small forum at Proboards. It's free.
