As someone who has lived all over - Alaska, Massachusetts, Germany, California, Indiana, New Jersey, South Carolina and Mississippi (I'm ex-military), I would take the Texas summers over Massachusetts winters without hesitation.

I will say, though, that the worst climate transition I've made was the one from Alaska to Mississippi. It only took one summer to acclimate, but by golly, that was one miserable summer.

I have always told people that the right time to move to Texas is in the fall. Then, by the time spring rolls around, you won't notice the heat so much, since you didn't really go through a bad winter.

I LOVED Boston winters! And springs, summers, and autumns - all are beautiful seasons there!
