Just stumbled on this forum, and felt like I should join and share my two new buddies with everyone.
Hi there!
I go by Pup!
A nickname I've had for over 10 years now.
I'm from a little town outside of Melbourne, Australia.
I live with my partner, and our two new kitters.
My partner had 4 cats growing up, and they all passed over the rainbow bridge in the last 4 years.
All of them lived long happy lives though, were all over 15 when they passed.
It felt wrong to not have a cat around, so we went to the local shelter to find a new friend to bring home.
Insert Mei.
She was left behind by her previous owners when they moved out.
The neighbors heard her after 2 weeks and went inside to get her.
After a month at a vet getting rehydrated and back up to health, she got spayed and was put up for adoption.
We saw her story and instantly fell in love and wanted to show her what a real family is like.
Now she's a very happy little thing, albeit a bit anxious at time.
Not that we can blame her, but we do everything we can to keep her happy and calm.
We call her our little watermelon.
Since she's round and stripey.
She's also named Mei from the character in the game Overwatch (If anyone here knows of it lol)
That's why we got her a tag with a snowflake.
It felt fitting.
After a while we noticed she really didn't like being alone during the day when no one else was around.
So, we thought she might appreciate a brother.
Didn't go out to look, just waited for the right kitten to appear for adoption on our local vet's facebook page.
6 months after we got Mei, we saw a little black ball of fluff and instantly fell in love.
Insert Hyder.
He didn't have as rough of a start as Mei.
but there was something about him that caught my eye and my partner's.
and since Mei was more my partner's cat, I wanted to finally get one to call my own ever since I wanted a cat as a child.
and Hyder was that cat.
They were friends within a day.
We were worried about how Mei would react, but she took to him almost instantly, and fell in love as fast as we did.
They are now inseparable.
They play together, eat together, groom each other, and sleep together.
It's like they are actually related.
I also have a dog who lives with my parents, since we don't have the room at my partner's place.
His name is Mikey, and he's a dalmatian.
So that's me and my babies :3
