Hi could anyone have any advice on keeping two feral cats together. We currently caught one pregnant cat who is now in our spare room upstairs, she gave birth two weeks ago and everything seems to be fine. We are also working on catching the mother of this feral cat who is also pregnant. We are just wondering would it be safe to keep these two in the same room as we don't have enough space for a second room. The both mothers are mother and daughter cats, would it be OK to keep both in the room. Currently there is 5 kittens already and one mother cat in the room. Thank you for your help

Tl;DR

Two pregnant mother and daughter cats, one is in our room with her 5 three week old babies, can we put the second cat in with her or will this be a bad idea.

We also have the possibility of putting her in a shed if that could work however there is not a lot of sunlight coming into the shed which could drive the cat/kittens crazy

It all depends on their temperament, some Cats won't tolerate other Cats around their babies and others are fine and will share Kitten raising duties. The only thing I can suggest is if you have a training crate available put it in the room with one mother+Kittens in that and see how they react, if there are no signs of aggression then it's most likely fine.

I agree with above. If they are friends, there shouldnt be any problems.

Otherwise, you can have one or both of them in cages, if you must have them in the same room. You can even have a curtain to the other mommas cage, so they dont see each other....
