This is a serious question!
Do you have recipes that are so good, you NEVER want to take chance on losing them , so you have made extra copies, and keep them under lock and key? I have a large gun safe that DH gave me when he downsized, so I keep my valuables in it. I also have copies of a couple of recipes that I never want to lose or in case the originals get damaged: bell pepper relish (I can this every summer), unbleached flour pie crust, pumpkin swirl cheesecake, with a gingersnap-pecan crust, the chocolate swirl version (with a chocolate graham cracker crust), a chocolate chip cookie recipe, and several others. Today, I baked red velvet cupcakes from scratch--a new recipe. This one will go into the vault, as well. It is so good. (I'm also thinking ahead to baking these for us to sell at a club I just joined. Twice a month, I cook in the kitchen at the bingo game, and we sell food to benefit our auxiliary. We want to buy an oven, and I will bake desserts to sell by the slice, if they will allow us to buy an oven. If we start baking, and this recipe is a hit, we would have to keep several copies, so we never lose it--or even is someone else becomes the baker if I can no longer bake).
I also keep a non-recipe recipe that someone on TCS kindly gave me: how to delete the Arcade Candy virus from my PC. I have 4 copies of this (it's a long string of computer commands--a page-worth--so I can't memorize it). I NEVER want to lose this! The virus shows up again on its "anniversary" of its installation, so I have to re-kill it each year--in July.
What are your "vault" recipes?
