Today is Festivus !!

From Wikipedia -

Festivus is a secular holiday celebrated on December 23 as an alternative to the pressures and commercialism of the Christmas season. Originally created by author Daniel O'Keefe, Festivus entered popular culture after it was made the focus of the 1997 Seinfeld episode "The Strike",[1][2] which O'Keefe's son, Dan O'Keefe, co-wrote.

The non-commercial holiday's celebration, as depicted on Seinfeld, occurs on December 23 and includes a Festivus dinner, an unadorned aluminum Festivus pole, practices such as the "Airing of Grievances" and "Feats of Strength", and the labeling of easily explainable events as "Festivus miracles".[3] The episode refers to it as "a Festivus for the rest of us".

It has been described both as a parody holiday festival and as a form of playful consumer resistance.[4] Journalist Allen Salkin describes it as "the perfect secular theme for an all-inclusive December gathering".[1]

The holiday, as portrayed in the Seinfeld episode,[1][15] includes practices such as the "Airing of Grievances".

So, let's hear your grievances (within the forum rules of course ;) )

You only have today to to air them as tomorrow the thread will be locked.

I'll start with people that can't stay in their own lane when they drive and people that only think about themselves and never think about others.

Lately I've been irritated at people who are texting while walking and even when they know they're walking into someone's path, they don't even look up from what they're doing, much less move or apologize. :cringe:

.....Yeah, txt walkers can be almost as bad as txt drivers. I was in the van with my dad one day years back and we pulled up to the corner of our road and the main road, which is 4 lanes northbound, a median, and 4 lanes southbound. A man and a woman were standing at the corner with the woman texting away and the man kinda looking around aimlessly, we figured they were waiting for a bus since that was a stop and there was no crosswalk. Traffic clears and they immediately step into the road right infront of where we were trying to turn so my dad has to slam on the brakes, woman doesn't even look up from where her face is still buried in her phone and the man just gives us a funny look and they s-l-o-w-l-y walk across the 4 lane south bound part onto the median, woman still texting away not paying any attention to anything else. We get to the traffic island and turn around into the NB lanes and see the clueless twits as they were now s-l-o-w-l-y crossing the NB lanes with the woman STILL texting away and not paying any attention. My dad lays on the horn, the woman about drops her phone and the man has a deer in headlights look.....and they stop, right there in the middle of a lane of traffic, staring at a van heading toward them at 45 MPH. Thankfully there was no traffic in the next lane so my dad swerves around them and we both flip them off as we go past.

I've had numerous people ask why we didn't just run them over as they're clearly darwin award material. My standard reply is that the front end damage would have been too expensive.

Aww i forgot about Festivus! I want to do a Festivus party next year on the 23rd.

My grievances:

People who slack at their job when it affects others. If youre charging money for something, im sorry, you need to STAY ON TOP OF THINGS, or people just might go somewhere else. Ive been waiting almost 5 days for something literally takes 5 minutes. Hurry up and doo iiiit :angryfire:

Trying to pass off falsehoods as truth.
It always gets up my nose and has since I was very young.

And for something far more trivial but possibly just as annoying in the moment.... slurpers. I have a friend who insists on having his tea and coffee incredibly hot. Then he slurps it to cool it down.
Why would you do that? :dunno:
