I am in the process of setting up a one gallon fish tank. My hopes are that Reese will enjoy watching them. I have heard them recommended for cats on many different occasions.

My plan is to get 2-3 guppies. Or if that doesn't work out then 2 goldfish, IF I can find 2 small enough to fit in one gallon. And then if all else fails I can always get one beta.

I really prefer to have a few fish in there for more activity. I am making those 3 my choices cause it is my understanding that they are the most hearty and least maintenance. But, if anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears.

I'll post pics when I get it all set up. It will probably be 2-3 more weeks.

I'd love to see a pic of the tank once it's set up!

For a 1 gallon, I suggest a betta, or a handful of cherry shrimps (those are really entertaining to watch and grow!) I'd say no to goldfish as they are very messy and will outgrow the tank very fast.

No need for filter for a betta if you do water changes often. A sponge filter for shrimps.
