They grow up so fast, don't they? Tails is six months old today, and as a half-birthday present to himself, he had his first adult meow!
I was on my computer and I thought I heard Memphis' loud meow across the apartment, but he was laying 5 feet away on my bed. So I go to check it out, and Tails sees me and gives me the meatiest, deepest meow he's ever given off. It lasted a few more meows, then he kind of snapped out of it and went back to his kitten meow. I didn't know cats went through puberty woes like voice changes the same as humans, and I had to laugh. I am happy I heard it the first time he did it; I have been wondering if his voice would change at such a slow rate that I wouldn't notice, but this was the same as a kid whose voice breaks for the first time as he's giving a presentation in middle school. And I am sorry to say I laughed like I was one of the cool kids in that scenerio.
This does make me kind of sad, this is the first step in Tails not being a kitten anymore
. Pretty soon he's going to be going on dates, dyeing his hair, staying out late, and smoking with cigarettes. Not really, but his cute little kitten meow will be nothing but a memory in a few months...
