For feeding our ferals/strays. I often feed them a night. You can leave the wet food outside... it doesn't go bad as fast because of the colder temps, but it doesn't freeze either. No flies and other bugs and insects to worry about. I also have a problem with slugs getting into my ferals wet food, but even they stop coming around when the night time temp drops below 50F.
