Good thing you are off to the vet 🐱
The third eyelid showing means something is off. Sometimes a tapeworm can cause this issue.

It's both cats and both eyes so it likely narrows it down to something contagious or something environmental.

Another thing your vet might not think to ask, but after legalization in many places it is an issue: Has anyone been smoking marijuana inside of your home?

Also do you have any houseplants? If so, what houseplants? They may have ingested something toxic.

Consider all the above to take to the vet. They'll likely want a stool and urine sample as well.
