hello all,
I recently rescued (about 2 months ago) a 3 year old female cat. She constantly attacks me, which I’m thinking is why they put her up for adoption. I’ll get out of the shower and she bites and grabs my legs and feet. I’ll be sleeping and she comes up and attacks me with her claws and bites me. I’m at my wits end and have no idea what to do about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Has she been spayed? Female cats will often be aggressive when in heat.

This kinda sounds like play aggression gone awry. I'm going to give you links to a couple of articles that have much more information, said much more clearly, than I can do!

How To Set Healthy Boundaries For Your Cat
The Dos And Don'ts Of Cat Behavior Modification
Cat Aggression Toward People
How To Stop Playtime Aggression In Cats
Re-directed Aggression In Cats (she may be reacting to something else)

No matter what the cause, the answer starts with "BE PATIENT!" Cats don't attack "for no reason," just not for reasons we understand yet.

Best of luck, thank you for caring about a difficult cat, and let me know how things are going, please!
