I've one guy that has this cyst on his back, just an inch or so below his neck. His doc says constantly.... Don't worry about it.
Yeah, well, I do! Thing is, it gets bigger and bigger, until it bursts. Leaking that crap all over himself. But it never completely drains. And then just starts filling up again. It's awful.
She said don't worry, but I worry about infection at least.
So she said if I really want it gone, she'll remove it and try to cut below it to permanently remove it.
From my reading, this is typically a hair follicle problem.
I'm just looking to see if anyone else has had to deal with this sort of thing. Said I can schedule the surgery but wouldn't say anything about risks other than the anesthesia.
Anything else have this taken care of?

I have not personally had to deal with this, but I would think the vet could - to start with - take a swab of the 'cyst' material, test it, and see what they can determine from that. It is likely that since it grows and bursts, it will need to be surgically removed. But I do think testing the tissue is worthwhile beforehand.
