I don't use Facebook much, although I check it everyday. I use it primarily to follow news about businesses and organizations I'm interested in. Last year I pruned my friend list that I accumulated when I was young and impressionable; I removed over 90% of my "friends" from the list, keeping actual friends on the list. I never used any of the apps, and it annoyed me when people would spam my feed with how many cows they collected or what their new tetris high score is. I unfollowed those friends, and eventually removed them.
Recently though, my sister introduced a game called Criminal Case, and I am now addicted to it. It's a "find the hidden object" game -- you get a case, you find objects and earn scores and stars and medals, then you talk to suspects and solve puzzles. Very little thinking, most of the time you'd be hunting for objects in a static picture. The artwork is very well done, and the characters are not one-dimensionally boring. Apparently it was the most successful FB game last year.
Great way to kill time.
