Tuff is about to get his first dental cleaning. My vet charges 225. Is this average price?

Yikes. For my each of my Chihuahuas I pay nearly $1,000.00 each time, including "pre-surgery blood work."

A lot depends on whether blood work is done prior to the dental cleaning, if any teeth have to be extracted and anesthesia costs. I'd say $225 is a very, very reasonable fee.

FYI, here is a TCS Article that discusses some of the products you can use to help with dental care: What Tcs Members Use: Cat Dental Health Care

That's pretty reasonable. I would ask what it covers such as pre-dental bloodwork, sedative, pain meds, and etc. Those things could be extra.

That is very reasonable and on the low side. Put some extra aside because if he needs any extractions better to do it sooner rather then later and those cost more. Make sure they do pre-anesthetic bloodwork too.
