My 5 month old kitten developed a cloudy eye when she was about 3 months old. To describe it, it looks almost like a cloud of smoke covering her cornea. Within a week or 2 the other eye became cloudy as well, which made her vision impaired. We suspected it could be from an infection, and I was given an antibiotic eye drop treatment. One of the eyes cleared up, but the other one did not.
At this point I suspect she might have Keratitis brought on by the fvr virus. She often has runny eyes and sometimes nose, but I think that might also be from her mix of exotic breeds (which we don't know at the moment, since she was a stray). So, its hard to pinpoint the cause of her runny eyes - virus versus normal discharge from eyes due to pushed in face.
Are there any natural remedies to try on my own to help her clear this cloudy eye?
Is there something (like supplements or eye drops) that I can give her regularly to help prevent this from happening again, and to help with other symptoms like runny eyes and nose, and swollen eyes?
