Provided you toss them when they get that chewed on look before they can gnaw off a piece of it & ingest it; I can’t think of how it could be dangerous. When the three kittens were teething on jumbo straws, I used to snip off the chewed off n end.
The minions have been playing with jumbo straws their entire lives...... they turn 3 years old in September. No health incidents from straws.
