Cat Suddenly Urinating And Screaming

My cat yesterday has been acting strange. He starts like meow/screaming and then suddenly urinates. He has done this several times in like a frenzy. I can't make heads or tails of it. I've had him for six years since he was a kitten and he has never marked his territory and he doesn't have a history of incontinence.

He may have a urinary tract infection or other health problem. Please take him to the vet ASAP!

It does sound like a UTI. He will probably need antibiotics from the vet, and canned food instead of dry.

Please take your cat to the vet ASAP. The behavior you are describing could definitely be a UTI but it could also be signaling the beginning of a blockage. Blockages are a very serious medical issue. A UTI is much easier for the vet to treat before it causes a blockage.

Could be a UTI or the beginnings of a blockage due to stones/crystals or inflammation and spasms of the urethra. All of which need a vet visit. Your cat is in pain, that is the only reason to cry out before peeing.

Have you been only or mostly feeding him kibble? If so, you should switch to wet food and research feline nutrition.
