My cat had a tumor removed from neck wed. He’s eating and drinking and producing feces and urine. But he’s sitting in the litter box. I took him out and his anus looked red and inflamed but he is pooping.

I had moved his litter box out of the closet which may have freaked him out. Just wondering if the drugs maybe gabapentin affect peeing pooping.

A lot of cats take comfort in the scent of their litterbox. I see this a lot during adoption events. It could just be that since he's not feeling 100% that this is the case for him too. Plus gabapentin will slow them down so that could be part of the reason. Hope he recovers well and if you are concerned about any part of the healing process don't hesitate to call your vet.

Hi. Sitting in his litter box can be a sign of pain or not feeling well..
