So i got a new kitten and it took around a month but the cats can be in same room together. the kitten loves playing though and is a rough player. The older cat plays the stalking game with the kitten, and will swat with the kitten but as soon as the kitten wants to wrestle the older cat hisses. Only hisses when the kitten is rough and never uses her claws or gets violent with the kitten. Is this normal or anything i can do to help control it? He kitten is obsessed with the older cat so hard to get his attention when they are in the same room

The hissing is the older cats way of telling the kitten who is in charge and also to teach the kitten some manners. I wouldn’t interfere, sounds like the the older cat is doing fine.

It is absolutely normal. Your older cat is teaching your kitten very important lessons in boundaries and how to "cat." Things will settle down as the kitten catches on, and calms naturally with maturity (in a while). Until then, your older cat is doing a fine job!
