Cat on the field during the Giants-Cowboys game

A cat got on the field during this football game at Met Life Stadium. Are there strays around that stadium?

One employee told reporters that there are several colonies on the grounds, with around 300 cats total, supported by the stadium owners as rodent control. The stadium spokesperson denies this. But I'm sure there are cats whether anyone supports them or not, because trash attracts rodents, which attract cats.

Around, and about a dozen regular residents too from what we understood.

They did a really terrific job herding him over to an exit so he could get off the field with as little hassle as possible.

Hopefully now that this has gone viral, an organisation like the Humane Society will neuter/foster/take in some of the feral cats that have been living around the stadium.

We had a kitten run across the field when the Cards were playing a year ago. One of the guys caught her and the whole team wanted to make her a mascot but she ended up getting adopted out to a nice person.

Poor thing was traumatized. Glad the found a good use for the football stadium (housing cats).
