Hi! My one cat has started drinking more frequently now that the weather is getting colder, air drier, and with the heat on in our home. I remember googling the same thing last year ("do cats drink more in the winter") and I suppose I am once again just looking for some peace of mind (even if it's now become a pattern, I still tend to be paranoid). He is on almost exclusively wet food but gets kibble as a treat. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same. Thank you!
Best, Michelle

Hi. I have never noticed any change in the amount of water my cats have consumed based on weather changes, but I live in FL where the seasonal changes in weather are less drastic than in other areas of the country. However, I know I have read that cats are more susceptible to dehydration in wintertime with closed up, heated houses because of the lack of moisture in the air. So, on that note, it would seem your cat compensates for that by drinking more water. Good for him!
