My cat constantly keeps swiping his cheeks against my fingers I figure it's a way to show love but I'm curious if other cats do this? Most I know bump into your head.
It's about scent marking and territory, you being the territory. It's a sign of trust and belonging.
Before I stroke my cats, I offer my hand to their face so they can decide which bit they want me to concentrate on. Sometimes it's the left side of their face, sometimes the right. It shows what area they want stroking so avoiding unwanted attention elsewhere and making it less likely that they become annoyed.
Here's a short vid.
For me, my older kitten Bubbles, either swipes my finger as-well, or if she's feeling super affectionate, she'll lick my nose. Bibbles on the other hand, shoves his face violently into mine and goes crazy with rubbing, he'll also try to attempt to get me to eat him.
