Hi everyone,

looking for some insight. I took my cat into the vet yesterday for a health exam. She’s spayed female about 2 years old. She is very healthy, 8 pounds. Only thing is vet said she needs 6-7 teeth pulled, she only looked at my cats teeth for maybe 20 seconds and goes “up 6-7 teeth need to go”. I was quoted 1600$. I am all for fixing my cats teeth and yes her gum line is red. But she eats fine, no drooling no signs of pain I know they hide it well. Has anyone gone thru something similar? I am gonna get a second opinion before I spend that money. I thought they would clean and do x rays first, then come up with a plan. But 6-7 teeth for a 2 year old seemed extreme. Thanks for advice :)

Hi. Yes, get a second opinion. If she could see lesions on the teeth that would make her think the cat had cavities that are under the gum line, those are very painful and do need to be pulled.
I have posted a link with info below.
