My parents got me(and Alley) and really nice "cat condo" climbing cat furniture for Christmas!
This thing is cool and stands like 74"high with several platforms,two circular 'hideouts' and the legs are built in scratching posts.
Alley took a while to start using it but now she sleeps and relaxes on it quite a bit.

If somebody was even part way handy they could make their own pretty easy.
